Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Amir of Qatarfb899, Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Tuesday where the two leaders held delegation-level talks.

As per reports, an agreement on establishment of strategic partnership between India and Qatar was exchanged in the presence of both the leaders. Both countries also signed a revised agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion concerning taxes on income.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led discussions with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and several other senior ministers. The Qatari delegation was headed by the Amir of Qatar, Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani. Earlier in the day, the Amir of Qatar was welcomed with a Guard of Honour and a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. He was greeted by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with key government ministers. The Amir also held discussions with various ministers,jilicrown casino and President Murmu engaged with the accompanying Qatari delegation.

On Monday, Qatar's Amir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived in Delhi for a two-day State visit, during which he will engage in talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In a special gesture, Prime Minister Modi personally received the Amir at the Palam Technical Airport, referring to him as his "brother" and wishing him a productive stay in India.

Following his arrival, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with the Qatari Amir. The Amir is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, senior officials, and business representatives. His previous State Visit to India was in March 2015.
