“It’s better for us to take care in our online interactions, especially on dating apps or social media platforms,” ACG Spokesperson Lt. Wallen Arancillo said in Filipino during an interview with reporters at Camp Crame on Wednesday.

The benchmark PSEi fell by 1.50 percent, or 112.73 points, to close at 7,424.52 while the broader All-Shares index slipped by 1.08 percent, or 44.05 points, to settle at 4,033.36.

Speaking to reporters, ADB country director for the Philippines Pavit Ramachandran said the Manila-based multilateral lender was targeting to green-light the first round of financing under a multi-tranche loan to bankroll the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network project later this year.

“Let us remember that these scammers are only using dummy accounts to fool people. If you are victimized or experienced cybercrime, you may come to the ACG,” Arancillo pointed out in Filipino.

The ACG recorded 72 cases of “love scams” in 2024 and eight so far in 2025, with the youngest of the victims being 21-years-old and the eldest being 76-years-old.

“Based on our records in 2024, the biggest amount stolen from a victim was more than P600,000,” Arancillo said in Filipino.
